The G410 family scales down the lineup from three to two models compared to the G400 it replaces. The G410 Plus represents the first PING driver with a movable weight. The 16-gram tungsten plug sits along the perimeter of the head and provides three settings (Neutral, Draw or Fade). Besides the ball-flight options, the additional mass along the rear results in higher MOI than G400. A complementary model, the G410 SFT (Straight Flight Technology), has a fixed tungsten weight in the perimeter. The plug is positioned more heel-side than G400 SFT to make it easier to square the face. The G410 and G410 SFT share several updated technologies, including a forged TS9+ clubface (increases ball speed across more of the face), “Dragonfly” technology (lighter, stiffer crown), and “turbulators” on the crown (improved airflow for faster swing speed). In addition, the redesigned adjustable hosel now has eight settings (G400 has five), with more loft adjustments (+/- 1.5°; G400 is +/- 1°) and lie angle options (neutral to 3° flat). An 8-gram counterweight in the grip end of the stock shaft (Alta CB Red 55) enables PING to use a heavier-than-standard head (206 grams in G410 Plus; 204 grams in G410 SFT) for more energy transfer.
